Venezia of Italy striker, Akor Adams has set his mind of scoring against SSC Napoli this weekend in the Italian Serie A, as he hopes to welcome his club’s new coach in grand style.
Sports247 gathered that the former Montpellier of France and Sevilla of Spain hitman will again lead his Venice-based team’s hunt for goals on Saturday, during his first game under Davide Nicola.
Adams and his teammates officially welcomed Nicola as their new coach on Wednesday, with huge expectations of finally getting their season going under the new gaffer, who takes over from Giovanni Stroppa.
A report by Tribal Football adds, “The promoted side are without a point in six Serie A matches this season and have turned to the 53-year-old, who had been without a job since leaving Cremonese in March.
“Venezia are rooted to the foot of the table, four points behind second-bottom Fiorentina, following a 3-1 loss at Atalanta on Monday (which was) Stroppa’s final game in charge.”
Sports247 gathered further that Nicola has a strong reputation for pulling off survival feats in the Italian top flight during his years with Crotone, Genoa, Torino and Salernitana.
Adams will now aim to set the new tactician’s latest regime on the right path with a goal and decent result against Napoli, as Venezia seek to put an end to their six-game losing streak back in the Serie A.
