Sevilla of Spain attacker, Akor Adams was again the hero on Wednesday night, as his winning goal helped his side end their losing streak of four away games and ease their relegation threat in the Spanish La Liga, Sports247 reports.
Akor’s goal meant another breath of fresh air came for his relegation threatened team, as they stormed back from two goals down to win 3-2 away at Villarreal, thereby taking their victories to three matches and ending a six-game winning run for their hosts.
Sevilla started the game a point clear of drop zone and would have hoped their continent chasing hosts would take their feet off the pedal, but that was dashed 13 minutes in when Georges Mikautadze squared to Gerard Moreno to open scoring.
A report by Tribal Football added, “With 18 minutes to play, the home crowd were stunned as the visitors completed the turnaround. Alexis Sanchez broke up the play within seconds of coming on.
“Juanlu Sanchez and Djibril Sow worked the ball across the area to Akor Adams, who rifled it past Tenas at the near post (after which) Jose Angel Carmona’s header off the line thwarted Pau Navarro’s powerful deflected strike.
“That ensured Sevilla ended a run of four away defeats in succession, while Villarreal dropped points at home against a team starting the round outside the top five for the first time this season.”
