Sports247 reports that while fellow-Nigerian forward, Chidera Ejuke played as a 46th minute substitute for Sevilla, Akor was on for the duration of the encounter and put in a lot of effort marking from the front for the visitors.

Akor’s pressure on the defence line of Betis paved the way for his team’s revival, as Sevilla made a purposeful start to the second period and were rewarded with an Alexis Sanchez goal just past the hour.

The former Arsenal of England striker made a darting run to meet Oso’s whipped cross and sent a diving header out of Alvaro Valles’s reach, offering renewed belief for the pocket of away fans in La Cartuja.

Sevilla’s supporters who resisted the urge to leave at half-time then had a historic equaliser to celebrate in the 85th minute, when Isaac Romero drove a loose ball into the bottom corner after Betis failed to clear their lines from a free-kick.

Akor almost won it at the very end, but his effort on the angle was blocked off the line, while Romero’s first league goal since October was enough to help Sevilla move up to 11th place on the Liga log.
