Akaraonye happy with Aiteo Cup feat, eyes Super 4

Rivers Angels coach, Regina Akaraonye has expressed joy with her team’s recent success in the 2018 Aiteo Women’s Cup, reports Sports247.ng.

The Jewel of Rivers pipped Ibom Angels 1-0 in the final played at the Samson Siasia Stadium last Tuesday.

Juliet Sunday was on song for the Super Cup Queens in Yenegoa.

Akaraonye who is nicknamed “Skippo” by her admirers showed happiness with the cup success.

“We deserved to win the Aiteo Cup after playing so well from the preliminaries to the final. I wasn’t surprised we emerged as champions,” Akaraonye said in a chat with Sports247.ng.

“The final against Ibom Angels was a keenly contested one. I’m happy that we prevailed.

The former Rivers Angels star declared that the club’s horizon is on qualification for the Nigeria Women Premier League (NWPL) Super 4.

“Our target is to secure qualification for the Super 4. It will surely define our season.”

“We are working towards achieving the target,” she added.
