African U21 Championship: We’ll Eat Ghana Like ‘Jollof’ Says Mohammed

The head coach of Nigeria U21 women’s volleyball team, Rakiya Mohammed says her team will eat Ghana like a Nigeria delicacy, ‘Jollof’ when both teams square up against each other at the ongoing 2023 African U21 Nations Volleyball Championship (Zone 3) in Niamey, Niger Republic.

Nigeria faces Ghana at the Palais du 29 Juillet Recreation Center on Thursday by 3 pm.

Mohammed explained that her team is mentally and physically prepared for the game against Ghana.

The former National U18 assistant coach expressed confidence in the ability of her players to interpret instructions on the court of play.

She said, “The girls are hungry for glory and want to eat the Ghana women’s team like ‘Jollof Rice’ today. The players are mentally, physically, and psychologically fit to play this match; I want to assure you that the players will not disappoint.

“The technical crew are working tirelessly to ensure that girls interpret every instruction dished to them before and during the matches.

“I am happy with the progress of the team and we are confident that the trophy is coming home to Nigeria by the end of the tournament”, Mohammed said.
