Africa Scrabble Championship: Peter Moses dethrones Jighere

Akwa Ibom born Player, Peter Moses has emerged Champion of the Africa Scrabble Championship held in Kenya.

 

 

The then Nigeria number 3 defeated former Nigeria number 1 Wellington Jighere who now dropped to number 2 to take the top position in Nigeria.

 

 

Moses who is the head coach of Scrabble in Akwa Ibom State won 26 out of 32 games and lost 6, while his close rival Wellington won 22 and lost 10.

He attributed the success to hard work and consistency as he hopes to take his exploit to the World stage.

“I want to thank God for this success, being number one in Africa is not an easy feat, I will attribute the success to hard work and consistency because for you to be the best you have to beat the best.”

The current African Champion will now head to Malaysia today for the Alchemist Cup aka World Festival of Scrabble.
