‘Africa Can Compete With The Best’ Motsepe Backs World Cup Teams — CAF President Demands Belief And Ambition

President of the Confederation of African Football, Patrice Motsepe, has expressed strong confidence in Africa’s representatives ahead of this summer’s FIFA World Cup, insisting the continent has the quality to challenge the very best teams in the world.

Speaking about Africa’s chances at the tournament, Motsepe said the participating nations are far better prepared and equipped to showcase the depth of football talent across the continent.

“Africa can compete with the best,” he said.

According to the CAF president, the key requirement now is belief and ambition from the teams representing the continent.

“They must believe in themselves,” he implied.

Motsepe highlighted the fact that many African players are already competing successfully in Europe’s biggest leagues and against elite opposition every week.

“Our players already perform at the top level,” he noted.

For the South African football administrator, African football no longer lacks quality or exposure.

“What remains is confidence and mentality,” he added.

Motsepe also stressed that strong performances at the World Cup would further elevate the reputation of African football globally.

“This is an opportunity to put Africa on the map,” he stressed.

African nations have continued pushing to break new ground at World Cups following Morocco’s historic semifinal run in 2022.

“We have shown what is possible,” many supporters across the continent believe.

As preparations intensify for the tournament, expectations will once again rise around Africa’s ability to challenge traditional football powers.

For Motsepe, the message is clear.

Believe boldly.

Play without fear.

And show the world Africa’s quality.

Because the talent already exists—the next step is turning potential into global success.
