The camp of Nigeria’s Super Eagles has firmly shut down rumours of internal crisis following Monday night’s emphatic 4–0 victory over Mozambique, a result that sealed the three-time champions’ place in the quarterfinals of the ongoing Africa Cup of Nations in Morocco.

Speculation surfaced after television cameras captured Victor Osimhen gesturing towards teammate Ademola Lookman moments before a corner kick, prompting widespread conjecture on social and digital media about a possible disagreement within the team.
However, Team Administrator Dayo Enebi Achor dismissed the claims as baseless, insisting there is no unrest in the Super Eagles camp.
“There is no problem whatsoever in our camp,” Achor said on Tuesday evening. “What people interpreted as a crisis between two brothers was resolved easily a couple of hours later. All is good, and the team is already back on the training pitch.”
Achor also addressed reports suggesting striker Akor Adams had abandoned the team camp after the game. He clarified that Adams merely took permission to briefly visit his mother, who was hospitalised in Fès, and returned to camp in under an hour.
On the pitch, Osimhen’s brace against Mozambique took his international tally to 34 goals in 50 appearances for Nigeria, leaving him just three goals short of the national record of 37 held by the late Rashidi Yekini.
Lookman, who already had two goals and two assists in the tournament prior to the match, delivered another outstanding performance, adding a goal and three assists to underline his influence.
All 26 available players participated in Tuesday evening’s training session at the Sardienne Complex, with defender Ryan Alebiosu the only absentee as he continues recovery.
Nigeria will travel to Marrakech on Thursday ahead of Saturday’s quarterfinal clash against Algeria.
