AFCON 2025: Farwill Consults’ CEO Moshood Fatai Predicts – Super Eagles Will Repeat Cameroon’s Heroics Of 2017

A Nigerian transcontinental businessman and chief executive officer of Farwill Consults Limited, Moshood Fatai has predicted that the Super Eagles will repeat at the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations what Cameroon did at the 2017 edition, after failing to qualify for the World Cup.

Sports247 recalls that the Indomitable Lions could not qualify for the 2018 FIFA World Cup in Russia, but later shocked everyone by winning the 2017 AFCON in Gabon as a form of compensation to their supporters, compatriots and administrators.

With the Super Eagles also having failed to qualify for the 2026 World Cup, Fatai has come forward with a strong view that the Nigerian squad will also compensate their fans and the entire country by winning AFCON 2025 in Morocco.

Fatai told Sports247 at the Eagles’ base camp in Fes that he, his workers, and their associates are at the venue to lend full support to the Nigerian team and help them achieve their quest for a fourth continental title.

The well-travelled brand marketer and exponent of Nigerian culture stated, “We are here in Morocco to support our darling Super Eagles of Nigeria. Our company is known for trading, arranging tours and support of eco-tourism.

“Wherever Super Eagles want to play, we are there to support them fully. So, it will not be out of place to say that we are one of the biggest companies that support Super Eagles of Nigeria.”

The exuberant CEO went on to reveal that his love for football generally is what motivated him to start lending support to the Eagles and added that he is always eager to back them in each match that they play.

He expatiated, “The motivation for us is actually our love for football and, by extension, for the Super Eagles of Nigeria. We want to do our bit to encourage them to win their matches.

“That’s why we are here, and there are still some others who will soon join us from Lagos. For every match of the Nigerian team, we will be there with different inscriptions and wearing different jerseys to support our darling Super Eagles.

“We believe that everything should not be left to government, the NFF or supporters’ club. So, I use this opportunity to urge all companies in Nigeria to always consider it very important to support the football team as a way of corporate social responsibility.”

He concluded by expressing optimism that the presence of extensive support from his group and other Nigerians who are converging on Fes, will help the Super Eagles soar all the way to the final in January and win their fourth AFCON title.

“I believe, with such constant support, the Eagles will return to us the glorious days we used to enjoy in football. I am very, very optimistic that our issue will be like that of Cameroon in 2027.

“They won the Nations Cup by defeating Egypt in the final when it was played in Gabon in 2017, but they could not qualify for the 2018 World Cup in Russia.

“Their team compensated the people of Cameroon by carrying the 2017 AFCON trophy. So, I am very optimistic that we will have a repeat of what happened, since we also could not qualify for the 2026 World Cup,” Fatai theorised.
