Reacting to the round of 16 win, Adepoju said he was impressed by the team’s intensity, balance and attacking efficiency, noting that it was the kind of display he has long expected from the Super Eagles.

“This performance shows desire and belief,” Adepoju said. “Nigeria played with confidence, controlled the game and took their chances well. This is the way a team that wants to win the AFCON should play.”

The former midfielder added that the result has boosted his confidence in the team’s chances, stressing that the Super Eagles appear to be growing stronger with each match as the tournament progresses.

Adepoju, however, cautioned that the real test begins in the knockout stages, urging the players to remain focused and disciplined as mistakes become more costly.

Nigeria will now face Algeria national football team in the quarterfinal clash scheduled for Saturday in Marrakesh, with Adepoju backing the team to build on their momentum and take another step toward lifting the trophy.

He concluded by calling on Nigerians to continue supporting the team, expressing belief that the Super Eagles have what it takes to go all the way if they maintain their current level of performance.
