The Chairman of Abraysports Football Club, Mallam Yusuf Abdullahi, has praised the Super Eagles for their impressive showing at the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations in Morocco, describing the team’s performances as a clear reflection of Nigeria’s deep footballing quality and resilience.
Abdullahi commended the players’ determination and technical ability, noting that their display at the continental tournament reinforces Nigeria’s status as one of Africa’s football powerhouses.

He also pointed to Morocco’s world-class infrastructure as a major highlight of the competition, citing iconic venues such as the Prince Moulay Abdellah Stadium in Rabat and the Grand Stade de Tanger as benchmarks for excellence.
According to him, Morocco’s heavy investment in modern stadiums and facilities is already paying dividends and aligns perfectly with the country’s ambition to co-host the 2030 FIFA World Cup.
He expressed optimism that Nigeria—particularly Kwara State—can draw valuable lessons from Morocco’s model.
The Abraysports CEO stressed that strategic investment in sports infrastructure, talent development, and grassroots programmes would not only boost football growth but also attract investors, enhance global visibility, and create employment opportunities for young people.
He added that such an approach could pave the way for the emergence of more elite players in the mould of Taiwo Awoniyi, Victor Osimhen, Ademola Lookman, and others.
Highlighting progress at the grassroots level, Abdullahi noted that 16 teams from Kwara State are currently competing in the Nationwide League One (NLO), a figure he believes could rise to 20 this year due to growing interest in the game.
He further explained that the completion of the Offa and Lafiagi stadiums would ease pressure on existing facilities while expanding access to quality venues for matches and player development across the state.
He also applauded the Kwara State Governor for sustained investment in sports and praised the State FA Chairman, Mallam Idris Abdullahi Turaya, for his role in driving football development in the state.
However, Abdullahi appealed for the provision of more football facilities to strengthen grassroots structures and position Kwara as a hub for future football stars.
On modern development trends, the Kwara State NLO Chairman emphasized the importance of proper nutrition in football, describing diet as a critical factor in player performance and overall development.
He also called for continuous education and retraining for coaches to ensure they meet contemporary football standards.
Abdullahi concluded by urging football administrators to prioritize learning and adaptation in line with global best practices, insisting that with the right investment, education, and support, Kwara State and Nigeria can achieve sustained success in football and sports development at large.
