Abraham continues good form for Aston Villa with brace, Eze also on target

Tammy Abraham continued his good form with another couple of goals in Aston Villa’s entertaining 2-2 draw with QPR at New Year.

The on-loan Chelsea striker has now hit 16 goals for Aston Villa in the English Championship this term.

Abraham, reportedly keen to end his loan from Chelsea and show his goalscoring ability in the Premier League, scored two crucial goals to take his tally to nine in the last five home games.

The former Swansea City forward has netted 16 goals in 20 league appearances this term.

He was on the mark in the 21st minute but a tenacious QPR shook Villa to the core when Luke Freeman equalised just before the break and then took a 57th-minute lead through another Nigerian born forward Eberechi Eze.

Abraham notched a face-saving equaliser in the 76th minute but injury-hit Villa, who were forced to include goalkeeper Jed Steer and defender Tommy Elphick having recalled both players from loan spells, continue to drop points at home.

It will be recalled that Nigeria made attempts to convince Abraham to play for them but he opted to defend the colours of England.
