Moforehan Abinusawa wasted no time in announcing her intent for the 2026 indoor season, delivering a commanding performance at the Quaker Invitational in Philadelphia.
Representing the University of Pennsylvania, the Nigerian sprinter powered to victory in the women’s 60m final, clocking a season’s best of 7.33s.

The time, just fractions off her personal best of 7.26s, underlined her sharp early-season form and set the tone for what promises to be another strong campaign.
Abinusawa comfortably took first place ahead of Synthia Boakye, who finished second in 7.47s, while Success Duruzor completed the podium in 7.50s.
Already a proven performer on the collegiate circuit, Abinusawa currently shares the Ivy League 60m record with Olympic medallist Gabby Thomas and holds multiple school records at Penn—credentials that continue to set her apart within the conference.
Beyond the NCAA scene, Abinusawa has also made her mark on the international stage.
She was part of the dynamic Nigerian sprint contingent that impressed at the 2024 African Games in Ghana, further cementing her status as one of Nigeria’s most reliable sprint prospects.
