Abia state Government says it is open to partnering with various individuals, sports, and Corporate organizations to develop sports in the state.

This was made known by the commissioner for sports and Youth development, Sir Nwaobilor Ananaba, who received in audience officials of Elite Global Golf Academy, who paid a courtesy visit to the office of the commissioner.
Narrating reasons for their visit, the chairman of Elite Golf Academy, Dr. Elijah Ogbuokiri, said their visit was to seek a partnership with the state government on how best they can develop Golf in the state.
He highlighted the various benefits of being a golfer and assured the state government of a good partnership to developing Golf.
In her remarks, the Chief Executive officer of Elite Global Golf Academy, Abia-born Mrs. Uloma Mbuko Ogbuokiri, who is also a professional golfer with international experience, said their visit to the state, was to help the state government develop Golf, just like what is applicable in other states.
“Golf is a big business and a very lucrative sport, and there is a need for Abians to come together and help the government develop sports in the state which Golf is one of the sports”
“We have done this in various states and recorded success stories, so we had to come down to our own state too, to help the government develop golf here, in line with the plans of his excellency Governor Alex Otti (OFR)”.
Mrs Uloma Mbuko said their proposal to the Abia state government is aimed at establishing and developing golf in the state over the next few years, through a talent hunt, School golf development, Establishment of an ultra-modern golf hotel resort, scholarships for PGA South Africa training programs for potential Pros amongst others.

Sir Nwaobilor Ananaba, appreciated Elite Global Golf Academy, for their choice of Abia state for the development of Golf, and assured them of the government’s continuous drive to develop sports in the state.
