The first defeat for Atlantic Business in all competitions this season and the first under new coach Adiro Olayinka who joined from 96Champions as the team fell to a 2-1 defeat to Iganmu FC.
With a draw in the first group game against defending champions Gbagada FC, knocking out First Bank FC in the Lagos FA Cup to get to the last 16, the team has experienced all the possible results from football in the first three games of the season and the coach explains this recent result wasn’t planned.
“The game didn’t go our way as that wasn’t what we planned for but that’s football. Sometimes, it just wouldn’t work out. It’s a learning curve for us, we’ve seen what happened and we’ll look to correct ourselves in subsequent games,” Olayinka Adiro told Sports247.
“It’s just one of those days football will be football. Mentally, I already started to look past it at the sound of the final whistle and I’ve moved on to the next game. I’m proud of the boys as they fought to the end,” he added.
With just 1pts from two games, the chances of the side qualifying are slender and they need a win in the last group game to seal qualification into the next round.
