Delta Queens will represent Delta State in this year’s Aiteo Cup following their victory over Royal Queens in the final of the Delta Stae Football Federation FA Cup.
A pulsating female category final played at the Austin Jay Jay Okocha Stadium saw Delta Queens defeat Royal Queens 5-4 on penalties.
Both sides rekindled their rivalry in the battle for supremacy for who will represent the State in the national tournament of the Aiteo Cup.
Delta Queens dominated the game and created the first clear chance of the game when former Royal Queen player Chiamaka almost broke the deadlock.
Royal Queens sat comfortably in the back soaking all the pressure and not giving their opponent the clear-cut chance.
Delta Queens continued to mount pressure and in the second half Chiamaka almost scored but her ball was well saved by the goalkeeper.
The game ended goalless as it went straight to a penalty kick.
Delta Queens goalkeeper Onuegbu Ihuoma saved the last kick from Royal Queens player before Adegbemile Rebecca converted her own to hand the Okowa Girls the win.
They will now prepare for the national tournament which will kick off next month.
