Fustar Youth League Launch holds Saturday in Abuja

All is set for the official launch of the much-awaited Fustar Youth Football League in Nigeria and other parts of Africa, holds Saturday, at the Conference hall, Bon Hotel Elves, Monrovia street, Banex area, Wuse 2, Abuja.

The Fustar youth league is a platform for school pupils aged 14-16 years to engage and compete with their peers in other schools through the game of football in a professional standard.

According to a statement signed by David Doherty, the CEO of UK based SportEduPlus, organizers of the competition, the Fustar youth league being staged in Abuja, is the pilot edition. As there are plans to do the same in Lagos in a few months and with plans to engage much younger age groups such as ages 8-11 for boys and girls.

Doherty explained that the aims of the organizers include supporting the development of grassroots football in Nigeria and Africa, as well as, produce national team U15-17 prospects through the participation and inclusion of boys and girls such projects.

He added that essentially, the league is aimed at curbing age cheats in age grades football. Doherty, a renowned UK licenced football coach and promoter, also stated that the Fustar youth league would be exposed through a partnership with clubs in the UK and Europe for much higher football and education opportunities through proper development plan and with professional academies.
