Super Eagles forward Kelechi Iheanacho has expressed confidence in Bursaspor’s title ambitions after helping the Turkish club climb to second place in the league standings, insisting that the players are determined to maintain their impressive run of form.
The Nigerian international has enjoyed a remarkable start to life at Bursaspor following his summer move, recording 15 goals and three assists in 11 appearances, including goals in 11 consecutive matches.
Iheanacho believes his performances are particularly satisfying because they have contributed to the team’s progress in the league.
“I’m happy with my performance, helping the team to get up the table,” Iheanacho said.
“Now we’re second in the league, so we hope to get more points.”
The former Manchester City and Leicester City striker stressed that his immediate priority is to maintain his scoring form while helping Bursaspor secure the results needed to sustain their challenge at the top of the standings.
“So hopefully the goals will keep coming, and at the end we shall crown our effort with victory,” he added.
His impressive goalscoring record has made him an important figure in Bursaspor’s campaign, with the club hoping to convert its strong early-season performances into sustained success.
Despite his individual achievements, Iheanacho’s comments underline his commitment to collective progress, particularly as the battle for promotion and league honours intensifies.
The Nigerian forward’s form is also encouraging for the Super Eagles, with head coach Eric Chelle continuing to assess attacking options ahead of future international assignments.
For Bursaspor, maintaining consistency will be crucial as they attempt to close the gap on the league leaders and strengthen their position in the promotion race.
Iheanacho, however, remains focused on contributing goals and helping the team accumulate points rather than dwelling on his impressive personal statistics.
With Bursaspor sitting second, the Nigerian striker believes continued hard work and consistent performances can help the club achieve its ambitions by the end of the season.
