Abia Angels’ Former Assistant Coach Ogochukwu Atube Targets Return To NWFL’s Spotlight

A former assistant coach with Abia Angels FC of Umuahia, Ogochukwu Atube has spoken about her desire to regain attention with another club in the Nigerian Women Football League (NWFL).

Atube made this known in an exclusive interview with Sports247, during which she enthused that the experience she has gained working with many clubs in the domestic league makes her a good choice for any team.

Although she is currently in the crew of Flying Sports Academy at FESTAC Town in Lagos, the amiable female tactician, who hails from Ika local government area of Delta State, said she only decided to keep busy with the team, having previously worked with them.

She also spoke about her love for grassroots football as well as passiin of hunting for both male and female talents from the youth level, hence her presence with the team owned by former Genoa of Italy midfielder, Marshal Mbre.

Atube narrated, “I actually started coaching with Dynamo FC in 2014 and I graduated from NIS in 2017. I then joined Flying Sports Academy and worked with them for six years before moving to Goodland Rangers.

“I handled them from NLO to NNL for two seasons, then started working for clubs in the NWFL. Among the tesms that I’ve worked with in the league are Naija Ratels, Abia Angels and Osun Babes.

“I worked alongside former Super Falcons goalkeeper, Ann Agumanu at Abia Angels and I was there until early this season. I later decided to return to the grassroots for a little while, and I’m now training young boys at Flying Sports Academy.”

When asked how soon she will return to another club in the NWFL, Atube, who looked quite happy and excited among the young lads she is currently tutoring, simply told Sports247, “I believe in God that it will be very soon.”
