Lagos Knights continued their strong start to Game Week 3 of the Showtime Flag Football League Bowl Series XV with a convincing 47-19 victory over Lagos Rebels on Sunday.
The defending champions came into the Lagos clash with another major test ahead of them, but they quickly showed their quality, taking a 21-7 lead into halftime before pulling further away after the break.
Sports247 report that Knights’ victory was built on a strong team display, with cooperation and unity playing a major role in keeping the champions in control throughout the contest.
Bello Balikis highlighted those qualities when she pointed to the team’s ability to work together as one of the biggest reasons behind the win.
“Cooperation, like unity,” Balikis said, stressing the togetherness that helped the Knights get the better of the Rebels.
Fatai Praise also made her mark during the contest, recording a sack and helping the team gain a first down as the Knights continued to push forward.
With the Rebels unable to close the gap after halftime, the Knights finished the game with a comfortable 28-point victory and another important result in their title defence.
The confidence within the camp was clear after the game, with Balikis already looking towards the next challenge and backing the Knights to come away with another win.
The 47-19 result gives the defending champions another boost as they continue their Bowl Series XV campaign, while the Rebels will have to regroup after a difficult outing against a Knights side that showed why they remain one of the teams to watch.
For Lagos Knights, the message from Game Week 3 is clear: the champions are still very much in the fight.
