EuroMatch NPFL: “We Are Sorry and We Promise to Be Back on Track” as Kano Pillars Draw Again at Home- Ogunmodede

Kano Pillars head coach Daniel Ogunmodede has expressed disappointment after his side were held to a 1–1 draw by Sporting Lagos in the EuroMatch Nigeria Premier Football League, extending the club’s run of consecutive home draws.

The result means Kano Pillars have now settled for two successive draws on home soil, leaving the coaching staff and players eager to return to winning ways in their next league fixture.

Sports247 reports that despite dropping another two points, Ogunmodede believes there were improvements in his team’s performance compared with their previous outing. However, he admitted that the result did not reflect the outcome the team had hoped for.

“For me, we played better than the last match, but unfortunately we ended up with a draw,” Ogunmodede said during his post-match interview.

The Kano Pillars coach chose to focus on the positives, particularly the fact that his side remain unbeaten, while acknowledging that more points must be collected if they are to remain among the teams challenging at the top end of the league.

“And the positive is that we are still unbeaten and still a contender. As a coach, I count on the positive,” he added.

However, Ogunmodede was candid about the points dropped from their last two fixtures, admitting that Kano Pillars have not taken full advantage of their opportunities.

“In possible six, we got two. We are sorry and we promise to be back on track,” the coach stated.

Kano Pillars will now be expected to respond strongly in their next encounter as they seek to turn their unbeaten run into more victories.

While avoiding defeat has provided some encouragement, the two consecutive home draws have highlighted the need for greater efficiency in converting opportunities into maximum points.

Ogunmodede also addressed the Kano Pillars supporters, acknowledging their disappointment with the latest result and promising that the team will work to improve its fortunes.

“First and foremost, to our fans, I felt really bad with the scoreline. We have to turn things around,” he said.

The draw against Sporting Lagos leaves Kano Pillars with work to do as the EuroMatch NPFL campaign progresses. Ogunmodede’s emphasis on remaining unbeaten and staying in contention suggests that the team remains focused on its broader objectives, but the coach will now look for a winning response to prevent further points from slipping away at home.

For the Kano-based side, the immediate task is clear: convert promising performances into victories and reward their supporters with the maximum points they have been seeking.
