Shooting Stars Return to Ibadan, Begin Night Training Ahead of CS Sfaxien Clash

Shooting Stars have returned to Ibadan and immediately resumed preparations under the lights as the Oluyole Warriors intensify their build-up for the crucial second leg of their CAF Confederation Cup first preliminary round tie against CS Sfaxien of Tunisia.

Sports247 reports that the Nigerian side secured a narrow 1-0 victory in the first leg, giving them a slender advantage ahead of the decisive return encounter.

However, with the tie still finely balanced, attention has quickly shifted to the challenge awaiting the team in Tunisia.

Following their return to Ibadan, the players were back on the training pitch for a night session, with the coaching crew using the opportunity to work on tactical organisation, fitness and other key areas ahead of the continental assignment.

The Oluyole Warriors are expected to depart Nigeria for Tunisia within the next 72 hours as preparations move into their final phase.

Shooting Stars’ first-leg victory has given the team something to protect, but the narrow margin means they cannot afford to approach the return fixture with complacency.

CS Sfaxien, one of Tunisia’s established clubs, will have the advantage of playing in front of its home supporters and is expected to approach the second leg with greater attacking intent.

For Shooting Stars, maintaining defensive discipline while remaining a threat going forward will be crucial as they seek to preserve their aggregate advantage and secure progression to the next stage of the CAF Confederation Cup.

The first-leg encounter in Abeokuta saw the Nigerian club create opportunities to score more than once, but ultimately settled for a single-goal advantage.

Head coach Salisu Yusuf has already indicated that his team will not approach the second leg in exactly the same manner, revealing that tactical and formation changes are expected for the trip to Tunisia.

The coach remains confident that the Oluyole Warriors can deliver when it matters most.
