Nigeria will have a strong representation in the 2026/27 UEFA Women’s Champions League, with several Super Falcons stars set to feature in Europe’s premier women’s club competition.
Following the conclusion of the qualifying rounds, the league phase features 18 clubs, with the league-phase draw scheduled for September 4, 2026.

Sports247 gathered that among the Nigerian contingent are Jennifer Echegini and Rasheedat Ajibade, who are both part of the Paris Saint-Germain squad. UEFA’s official PSG squad list confirms the two Nigerians among the club’s registered players for the competition.
The Nigerian representation also extends to Italy, where Shukurat Oladipo and Rinsola Babajide are set to represent AS Roma, while Toni Payne will feature for Inter Milan. UEFA’s official Inter squad list includes Payne among the club’s players for the 2026/27 competition.
Swedish champions BK Häcken provide another Nigerian connection, with Joy Omewa and Halimatu Ayinde included in the Nigerian contingent.
In Portugal, Benfica will have three Nigerian players in their squad: Flourish Sabastine, Janet Akekoromowei and Tosin Demehin. Benfica officially confirmed the signing of 18-year-old Nigerian forward Janet Akekoromowei in July, with the youngster signing a contract through 2028, with an option for two additional years.
