The Nigerians stayed firmly in contention during the opening half, trailing by just three points at the break as South Korea went into halftime with a 48–45 lead.

However, the game slipped away from D’Tigress after the restart as Korea increased the intensity and gradually opened up a commanding advantage.

The decisive blow came in the final quarter, with South Korea producing a 31-point offensive burst to pull clear and secure an 18-point victory.

The defeat leaves Nigeria with work to do in Group B, but there is little time to dwell on the result as attention immediately turns to their next fixture.

D’Tigress will face Hungary on Saturday, September 5, knowing that a victory is crucial to keeping their hopes of progressing in the competition alive.
