Nigeria’s youth female national team, Falconets are taking comfort from the cool ambience of their new abode at Novotel Katowice Centrum, as they prepare for their opening match of the 2026 FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup in Poland, Sports247 reports.
Coach Moses Aduku’s squad will battle Spain in the Polish city of Katowice, where they arrived on Thursday from their pre-competition training base in Trzebnica and they moved straight into the posh 4-star hotel located just a short walk from the city’s popular ‘Culture Zone.’
The hotel, which also offers excellent proximity to the Silesian Museum, the International Congress Centre and iconic Spodek arena, has a relaxation area equipped with a heated indoor pool, hot tub, a sauna and fitness centre, which the Falconets will find suitable for the task ahead.
The Falconets’ new abode is also renowned for its blend of business-friendly amenities and family-oriented comfort, which would come in handy for the players to wind down after each match, starting versus Spain on Monday, as well as China on Thursday and next Sunday against New Caledonia.
This comes after the team spent 10 days during their final build-up in Trzebnica, where they played two friendlies and the players acclimatised to Poland’s weather as well as gained awareness ahead of the global tournament in which Nigeria finished second in 2014 and 2018.
Sports247 reports furrther that, following their final build-up in Trzebnica, attention now turns to Katowice, where the Falconets are already making themselves comfortable ahead of their opening Group F encounter against Spain on Monday, with expectations of a winning start.
