Edo Queens Face USFA in WAFU-B Semi-Final Showdown as Four Teams Battle for Continental Tickets

The race for qualification to the CAF Women’s Champions League enters a decisive stage as four teams prepare for the semi-finals of the WAFU-B Women’s Champions League Qualifying Tournament.

Sports247 reports that Nigerian champions Edo Queens will face hosts USFA Union Sportive des Forces Armées of Burkina Faso in one of the two semi-final encounters, with a place in the final and a step closer to continental qualification at stake.

The highly anticipated clash is scheduled for 4:00 pm, with Edo Queens aiming to maintain their impressive run in the competition.

Edo Queens have emerged as one of the standout teams in the tournament, producing an emphatic 7–0 victory over AS Garde Nationale of Niger before defeating Ivorian champions ASEC Mimosas 3–1 and losing 2- 1 to Ampem Darkoa to secure their place in the last four.

Head coach Kennedy Boboye will now face another important test as his team looks to translate its strong group-stage performances into a place in the final.

Standing in their way is USFA, who will be determined to take advantage of home support and secure a historic passage to the final.

In the other semi-final, Ghanaian champions Ampem Darkoa Ladies will battle Dynamique FC of Benin at 8:00pm. Ampem Darkoa arrive at this stage with ambitions of representing Ghana at the continental level, while Dynamique FC will be hoping to continue their impressive campaign and book their place in the final.

The semi-finals are expected to produce two highly competitive encounters, with the stakes significantly higher than in the group stage.

For Edo Queens, victory would represent another major step towards their ultimate objective of returning to the CAF Women’s Champions League proper.

The Nigerian champions have already demonstrated their attacking quality in Burkina Faso, but the semi-final presents a different challenge where tactical discipline, composure and efficiency could prove decisive.

With just two matches separating the remaining teams from continental glory, the battle for WAFU-B supremacy is entering its most crucial phase.
