Ahead of their departure to the United Kingdom for this year’s edition of English and Welsh International Super Cup, Buruj Sports Academy will this evening play a warm-up game against Escola Academy at Gbagada Grassroots Development Centre.
The match which will kick off by 4.00 pm will also be used to say goodbye to the numerous fans who have been trooping daily into the mini-stadium in the heart of Gbagada to catch a glimpse of the glory boys who have been thrilling them with skilful display as they prepare for the task ahead.
The players and officials who are billed to jet out of the country on Tuesday afternoon aboard Emirates Airline are in high spirit to prove their mettle when hostilities begin on Thursday in the iconic city of Manchester before they will move to Cardiff for the Wesh Cup a few days later.
All the travel and logistic details that will make the journey a rewarding and memorable one for all the players and members of the contingent are being put in place by the management of the academy led by its CEO, Salaudeen Waheed, who doubles as the leader of the delegation.
Aside from the tournaments proper, trial games are on cards to be organised for the players against some EPL youth and local teams in the United Kingdom.
Meanwhile, all the players and members of the contingent have been implored to conduct themselves well when they get to the Queensland as the management of the academy will not condone any act that will tarnish the image of the country and the academy.
