Atalanta of Italy’s Nigerian-born youngster, Honest Ahanor, could be on his way to Chelsea of England in the coming week, following reports that the 18-year-old defender has caught the keen attention of The Blues, with strong hints of an impending move to Stamford Bridge.
Sports247 reports that the chances of Ahanor moving to Chelsea intensified in midweek, as officials of The Blues were said to be in advanced talks with their corresponding buffs from Atalanta, with personal terms already agreed and only small details left to be sealed.
The switch appears to be moving on smoothly due to a positive relationship between both clubs that developed when they collaborated in an agreement for Marco Palestra, which has made Stamford Bridge the most likely next destination for Ahanor.
Consequently, Ahanor, who broke into Atalanta’s first-team last season and got 35 appearances across all competitions, with two goals to his name, is set to be shipped out on loan, in a deal that would guarantee more first-team experience for the versatile center back.
