Terem Moffi Heads Closer To Summer Transfer From OGC Nice To SV Hamburg Of Germany

OGC Nice of France striker Terem Moffi is edging closer to a summer transfer deal that would take him to SV Hamburg of Germany, as both clubs have reportedly reached an agreement over the terms of a switch for the Super Eagles’ fringe attacker.

Sports247 reports that Moffi is in search of a new lifeline, after his spell on loan last season at FC Porto of Portugal could not transform into a full contract, but he still appears surplus to requirements at Nice, where a clash with fans put him in the club’s bad books.

In an apparent move to ensure they ship him out before the summer transfer window closes, Nice have now reached an agreement with Hamburg for the transfer of Moffi, who has scored 24 goals in 72 games for the French Ligue 1 club across all competitions.

Though terms of the agreement and figures involved have not been disclosed, the 27-year-old attacker is expected to hold personal talks with the German side and negotiate his own terms with the Hamburg-based Bundesliga poutfit before they complete the deal with Nice.

French publication Nice-Matin adds, “Hamburg have been monitoring Moffi for several weeks, as they seek to strengthen their attack. The striker spent the second half of last season on loan at Portuguese champions FC Porto, scoring once in nine league appearances.

“Porto decided against a permanent deal after Nice maintained an €8 million asking price. Moffi joined Nice permanently in 2023 after initially arriving from Lorient on loan. He endured a difficult campaign last season, including an incident involving Nice supporters.”
