Nigerian professional wrestler, Isaac Odugbesan (Oba Femi) is facing a fresh and very stiff challenege for his ongoing reputation as the face of World Wrestling Enttertainment (WWE) as well as his status as the outfit’s next star of the future, as Bron Breakkker is angling for the same recognition.
Sports247 reports that, just a month after WWE icon and maverick American wrestling legend, Brock Lesnar publicly lifted Oba Femi’s hand high in a symblic baton exchange, after losing to the Nigerian grappler at SummerSlam 2026, Breakkker is challenging ‘The Ruler’ for the same accolade.
Although nothing concrete has been stated by WWE on the simmering feud, Oba Femi may have to start bracing for a clash in the ring with Breakkker to resolve the matter once and for all, with bragging rights and the status of wrestling’s face of the future going automatically to the winner.
The new threat already appears quite realitistic, as 28-year-old Breakker (real name Bronson Rechsteiner) is already performing on the WWE’s RAW brand, where he is known as ‘Unpredictable Badass,’ and he is highly-rated as a second-generation powerhouse in the wrestling franchise.
He also holds a symbolic aura as the son of WWE Hall of Fame legend, Rick Steiner, while currently one-half of the reigning World Tag Team Champions, The Vision Alliance, alongside Austin Theory and Paul Heyman, after stablemate Logan Paul suffered a tricep injury.
Born in Woodstock, Georgia, USA, Breakker played high school football and briefly joined Baltimore Ravens as an undrafted free agent fullback, then got his professional wrestling debut in 2016 and signed with WWE in 2021, following which he spent three years in NXT developmental before joining the main log in 2024.
He is a former two-time WWE Intercontinental Champion, two-time World Tag Team Champion and voted ‘Rookie of the Year’ for 2022 by readers of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, all of which make him a credible threat to Oba Femi in their tussle for the new face and future of WWE.
Combat sport label, ‘Uncrowned’ columnist, Drake Riggs adds, “Bron Breakkker is still fully fixated on Oba Femi, and seemingly, the notion that Femi has overtaken his spot as the future of the company.
“They appear destined for a collision sooner rather than later. But somehow, WWE needs to get that tag title off Breakker and free him from The Vision as well. They’re serving little to no purpose for him.”
