Nigeria Volleyball Federation (NVBF) has officially commended and celebrated 12 coaches from the country who successfully participated during the recent FIVB Level 1 Coaching Course in Ghana, Sports247 reports.
This was revealed through a post on social media by the NVBF, which noted that having 12 coaches pass the FIVB Level 1 qualification means Nigeria has gained another set of well trained volleyball tacticians, who can be counted on to transfer their knowledge to the country’s emerging talents.

A press statement by the federation added, “The achievement goes beyond the individual coaches, as it represents another investment in building a stronger technical foundation and raising the standard of volleyball across Nigeria.
“The achievement represents a significant step in strengthening the country’s coaching structure, with the newly qualified coaches expected to play an important role in improving player development at grassroots, youth and elite levels.
“The successful completion of the course also provides an opportunity to widen the pool of properly trained coaches available to clubs, schools, state teams and national development programmes.”
Sports247 gathered further that FIVB Level 1 qualification equips coaches with internationally recognised foundational knowledge, technical skills and modern coaching methodologies required to develop players and improve performances of the teams they take charge of.
FIVB-trained coaches are also expected to improve the quality of technical instruction available to young players across the country, while helping to establish a stronger pathway for talent development through modern training methods and technical approaches at different levels of the sport.
While viewing the development as another positive milestone for the country as a whole, the NVBF added a post on facebook, which noted: “All 12 Nigeria coaches passed their FIVB Level 1 coaching course in Ghana. Congratulations to the Nigeria Volleyball family.”
