Nigerian international Yira Sor has completed a move from Belgian side KRC Genk to Turkish club Amed SK, opening a new chapter in his European career.
Sor joins the ambitious Turkish outfit as the club continues to strengthen its squad, with the Nigerian winger becoming one of the latest additions to Amed SK’s growing project under coach Besnik Hasi.
The move brings an end to Sor’s spell at Genk, where he had been under contract until June 2027. The 26-year-old joined the Belgian club from Slavia Prague in January 2023 for a reported €6.5 million but struggled to establish himself as a consistent starter due to injuries and inconsistent form.
Sor’s departure had been anticipated during the summer, with Genk indicating that the Nigerian winger was available for a transfer as part of changes to the club’s squad ahead of the new campaign.
The move to Amed SK now gives the former Slavia Prague attacker an opportunity to relaunch his career in Turkish football and play a more prominent role under Hasi.
Sor previously attracted considerable attention during his time at Slavia, including memorable performances in European competition, before moving to Belgium.
The Nigerian forward will now look to make an immediate impact in Turkey as he begins a fresh chapter with Amed SK and aims to rediscover the form that made him one of the country’s exciting attacking prospects.
