Young goalkeeper Aminu Mubarak delivered a standout performance for 36 Lion during the Femmco Football Championship August Camping in Ifo, Ogun State, keeping a clean sheet and providing an assist in an emphatic 8-0 victory over Jagunmolu FC.
Speaking exclusively to Sports247 after the impressive display, Mubarak attributed his performance to hard work, consistency, and discipline in training while expressing his determination to continue developing his goalkeeping abilities.

“Thanks to God for today’s victory. My performance was a product of hard work and consistency in training,” Mubarak told Sports247.
The youngster’s performance comes at a time when the goalkeeping position remains a major talking point in Nigerian football.
Reflecting on the country’s search for long-term solutions between the posts, Mubarak believes Nigeria possesses an abundance of young goalkeeping talent that must be properly identified and developed.
He referenced the period following the retirement of former Super Eagles goalkeeper Vincent Enyeama, suggesting that Nigeria has struggled to find an immediate replacement capable of filling the void created by the former international goalkeeper.
“We did not find a replacement so quickly for Enyeama, and I am sure we have thousands of young goalkeepers out there like him,” he said.
For Mubarak, the solution could lie in creating stronger development pathways for young goalkeepers, giving them regular competitive opportunities, and preparing them for the demands of elite football.
The 36 Lion youngster also has ambitious plans for his own career. Should an opportunity arise to move to Europe, Mubarak revealed that Real Madrid would be his dream destination.
“I would like to join Real Madrid if the door opens to Europe because they are the best team in the world with several laurels,” he stated.
Beyond his football ambitions, Mubarak credits his family for providing a strong foundation throughout his journey. The young goalkeeper said he has not experienced significant challenges in pursuing his football career because of the unwavering support he has received from his parents.
“I don’t have any challenges through my career. My parents are in full support of my career from the start,” he added.
His performance against Jagunmolu FC provides another platform for Mubarak to showcase his potential, while the Femmco Football Championship continues to serve as an important stage for young Nigerian players seeking exposure and development.
