Super Falcons forward Asisat Oshoala has strengthened her claim for the 2026 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations Golden Boot after scoring in Nigeria’s last two matches at the tournament in Morocco.
Oshoala found the net in Nigeria’s 1-0 victory over Zambia before scoring again in the Super Falcons’ emphatic 6-2 win over Egypt in their final Group C fixture.
The experienced forward’s consecutive goals have taken her tournament tally to two goals, placing her among the leading scorers as Nigeria prepare for the knockout stage.
However, Oshoala still has ground to cover in the Golden Boot race.
Zambia’s Barbra Banda currently leads the scoring chart with five goals, while Malawi’s Temwa Chawinga, Côte d’Ivoire’s Inès Konan and Cameroon’s Marie Ngah Manga are all on three goals.

Oshoala’s resurgence comes at an important stage of the competition for Nigeria, who bounced back strongly after suffering a 3-2 defeat to Malawi in their opening Group C encounter.
The Super Falcons responded with a 1-0 win over Zambia before producing one of their most convincing performances of the tournament against Egypt.
Oshoala’s ability to deliver in consecutive games will be encouraging for head coach Justin Madugu as Nigeria enter the decisive phase of their title defence.
The Barcelona and Bay FC forward also brings considerable WAFCON experience to the campaign, having previously established herself as one of Africa’s most prolific forwards.
With the Super Falcons through to the quarter-finals, Oshoala has opportunities ahead to reduce the three-goal gap separating her from current leader Banda.
The Golden Boot race remains wide open, with the knockout stage offering the leading contenders further opportunities to increase their tallies.
For Oshoala, another productive outing could quickly put her among the strongest contenders for the individual prize while helping Nigeria pursue a record-extending 11th WAFCON title.
