Paris-Saint Germain Feminine of France winger, Rasheedat Ajibade has disclosed that the vision behind her establishment of a charity foundation is to boost football development in Nigeria and ‘ensure talents are supported in every way possible.’
Sports247 reports that Ajibade, who is Nigeria’s current women’s national team captain, stated this during her high-profile outreach programme in Jos, during which she also paid a visit to Plateau State governor, Caleb Mutfwang.
She disclosed that productive discussions were held with the governor on steps towards further advancing women’s football, coaching techniques, youth education, scouting and female development initiatives in Plateau State.
‘The Lady With Blue Hair’ added that Rasheedat Ajibade Foundation also focuses on strengthening grassroots women’s football with improved coaching structures, talent development programmes and educational opportunities for young players.
The former FC Robo Queens of Lagos, Avaldnes of Norway and Atletico Madrid of Spain dazzler also disclosed that the foundation is committed to creating paths for emerging talents, while noting that sports development is a catalyst for community growth and social impact.
Ajibade said, “It was a great honour to meet with His Excellency, Governor Caleb Mutfwang, the Executive Governor of Plateau State, at the Government House in Jos as part of the Rasheedat Ajibade Foundation’s visit to the beautiful city of Jos.
“This visit was aimed at strengthening our drive to ensure that these talents are supported in every way possible to become the best version of themselves. We understand that talent optimisation is critical to building stronger communities.”
Sports247 reports further that the devout Christian with a Muslim name is also building enough goodwill that could help her lead the Super Falcons to a record-extending 11th title at the African Women’s Cup of Nations in August.
