Nigerian professional wrestler, Isaac Odugbesan (aka Oba Femi) has another tough challenge coming his way in the roped square, as World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE) have confirmed Dominik Mysterio will be his next opponent.
Sports247 gathered that, so soon after Oba Femi lost to Brock Lesnar during their rematch in Italy, ‘The Ruler’ is bound to face another stiff challenge against Mysterio, who was also defeated during this week’s edition of WWE Raw in Paris, France.
Next time out, Oba Femi will face Mysterio (AAA Mega Champion) in the semi-finals of the 2026 King of the Ring series, a highly anticipated clash that pits the Nigerian former shot-put star against a very tricky and crafty opponent.
The showdown was confirmed on Monday Night Raw, during which Oba Femi opened the broadcast with his now popular welcome hype in the ring, but he was interrupted by Dominik Mysterio, who stepped up to confront the fast-rising African rookie.
Shortly after, WWE officially confirmed that the pair will clash in a semi-final match scheduled for next week and the winner will advance into King of the Ring finals at the Night of Champions on June 27th in Saudi Arabia.
A report by Drake Riggs of Uncrowned recapped after Monday’s events at Accor Arena: “Oba Femi opening Raw in Paris was one of the wildest scenes we’ve seen in wrestling. The reaction not only to Femi but also to Dominik Mysterio was otherworldly.
“’The Ruler’ cut a clean, dominator-like promo, praising all the combatants in the King of the Ring tournament he may face, particularly whoever he faces in the finals. Although the feat of reaching the finals opposite him would be impressive.
“Femi also gave a nod to Brock Lesnar, whose head he still wants now that they’re 1-1. That all made the King of the Ring fairly clear going forward — Lesnar is going to cost Femi the win against LA Knight in the finals. You heard it here first.
“Mysterio was showered with unfathomable boos as he and JD McDonagh tried (and failed) to ambush Femi with a chair. They wound up escaping unscathed, but Femi promising to become Mysterio’s ‘daddy’ next week was just a delight.”
