The 2026 President Federation Cup Round of 64 delivered thrilling encounters across the country on Tuesday, with Sunshine Stars U-19 producing the biggest shock of the round after defeating Nigeria Premier Football League side Niger Tornadoes 2-1.
The youthful Sunshine Stars academy side stunned the experienced Tornadoes outfit to book a place in the round of 32 underlining the growing strength of youth football development in Nigeria.

Former champions Enyimba FC were among the biggest winners of the day after cruising to a commanding 4-0 victory over El Sharma FC, while Ikorodu City also recorded an emphatic 4-0 triumph against GAA Akanbi FC.
Rivers United safely progressed with a comfortable 2-0 win over G12 FC, as Akwa United defeated Wilbros FC 3-0.
Defending champions Kwara United survived a major scare before edging Sporting Supreme 4-2 on penalties after regulation time ended 2-2.
Another surprise result saw Sapele Lions eliminate Katsina United via penalties following a dramatic 2-2 draw.
Elsewhere, Bayelsa United defeated OISA FC 2-0, while Wikki Tourists overcame Jigawa Golden Stars 2-0.
El-Kanemi Warriors narrowly beat Krusader FC 1-0, and Plateau United secured a 2-1 win over Ahudiannem FC.
In other fixtures, Flight FC defeated Adamawa Academy 2-1, Ingas FC edged Edel FC 1-0, while Rangers International claimed a slim 1-0 victory over Godswill Akpabio FC.
Adamawa United also progressed after defeating Agbana Wonderful FA 5-4 on penalties following a 1-1 draw in regulation time, while Gombe United advanced via walkover against YSFON Stars.
The remaining Round of 64 fixtures are scheduled to be played on Wednesday and Thursday as teams continue their quest for Nigeria’s oldest domestic football title.
