Handball Federation President Declares: Let’s Put Interest Of Sports Above Personal Differences

Handball Federation of Nigeria (HFN), Jibril Saidu Ojih has reiterated his call for unity in the sector, while urging all stakeholders of the sport to put aside their personal desires and differences in order to move forward in unity.

Sports247 reports that Ojih stressed that the only way for handball to make further progress in Nigeria and enact a greater impact internationally is if all hands stay on deck to steady the ship in unity, peace and collective commitment.

Ojih also implored coaches, players, referees, state associations, club owners, fans and stakeholders to pray for harmony that will engender progress within the handball community.

While affirming that the sport’s strength lies in togetherness rather than division, Ojih reckoned that Nigeria would gain more from the game once all its stakeholders talk together as one.

The HFN president then assured that his administration is open to every stakeholder, irrespective of past affiliations, and appealed to them to prioritise general interests in order to attract sponsors, youth participation and growth of Nigerian handball.

He stated, “I am not a president to any group or faction, but to the entire handball family in Nigeria. Every voice matters. Let us put the interest of the sport above personal differences. Let us promote peace at all times, both on and off the court.

‎“Our strength as a sport lies not in our divisions, but in our ability to stand together as one family. Let us join in prayer for peace, harmony, and growth within our sport, so that handball in Nigeria can continue to bring glory to the nation.”
