A member of Golden Eaglets’ winning squad to the 1997 CAF/UEFA U17 Meridian Cup in Portugal, Muyiwa Abass Lawal is eagerly looking forward to the forthcoming friendly match between Ibadan Ex-Professionals and Super Eagles’ Legends.
Sports247 gathered that the much talked about exhibition game is scheduled to hold next week Sunday, May 31st, ahead of which the petit player, who friends fondly call ‘Kokoro,’ said it promises to be a memorable celebration of football.
The former Atletico Madrid, Córdoba, Leganés, Albacete and Xerez of Spain fast-paced crafty winger also called on former players in Ibadan and environs to honour the event and make it a special reunion of football’s legends.
While expressing excitement at the thought of seeing former players reunite and sweat it out on the pitch, Muyiwa urged football fans in Ibadan and beyond to be part of the forthcoming experience, especially as organisers have declared free entry for everyone.
“I thank Ex-Ibadan Professional Footballers Association for this initiative, and I encourage fans not to miss the opportunity to reconnect with the legends who once brought smiles, unforgettable moments, and joy to the country,” Muyiwa posited.
