NNL Super-4: Ranchers Bees’ Coach Ahmed Ahmad Declares – ‘We’ve Done Our Homework To Correct All Mistakes’

Ranchers Bees of Kaduna coach, Ahmed Ahmad has spoken confidently about his team’s chances against Inter Lagos FC, with an assurance that he and his crew have corrected all mistakes committed during their defeat on Monday.

Sports247 reports that the team that was recently bought over by Spain-based Super Eagles’ striker, Umar Sadiq, lost their first match of the ongoing Nigeria National League (NNL) Super-4 against Sporting Lagos, but Ahmad believes they will do better in Wednesday’s game.

The highly acclaimed grassroots tactician, who coached Sadiq during their days together at Abuja Football College, affirmed: “Like every other game, the result of our last match will determine how we approach the next one.

“At the same time, after every match, we have to see places where we can improve; and that’s what we’ve done.

“We have seen our mistakes, and we have done our homework. We checked our mistakes and tried to find a way to rectify them. So, we will definitely come out with a new strategy on Wednesday.”

Ahmad also confessed that the technical crew spied on Sporting Lagos during the first half of the competition’s opening game and acknowledged that what he saw made him respect them more; hence the extra work they put in ahead of Wednesday’s game.

He retorted, “As a matter of fact, we were able to watch the first half of our opponents on Monday, and we took notes. Although they lost, they are still a good side.

“That’s why we respect them, and we know we have to come out stronger on Wednesday. I can assure all our fans that we have put the right things in place to make sure we bounce back in our next game.”

The jocular and humble tactician concluded with details of the symbolic image the club is carrying, now that it’s back in the top-flight of Nigerian football – after 18 years of absence.

“Kaduna State government wasn’t the owner of Ranchers Bees before now. It was privately owned by late Alhaji Ahmed Aruwa. He was a senator before he died.

“The club was rested for about 18 years, until Sadiq stepped in.

He wanted to float a club, and he already had a name for it, but the people of Kaduna felt it would be good to revive Ranchers Bees.

“The fans prevailed on him, and we are happy that he accepted.

That’s why we also see fans trooping out for all our matches and they even come in large numbers to our training.

“We also have former players like (Daniel) Amokachi and Tijani (Babangida), who come to motivate the players regularly. The support we have in Kaduna is great.

“Ranchers is a household name and they have all given their blessings to this comeback. I believe we are going to do well in this Super-4 and the NPFL,” Ahmad enthused.
