The Super Eagles of Nigeria will enter their friendly against Jordan boosted with confidence from how their opponents conceded two late goals and settled for a draw in their opening game of the four-nation competition in Antalya, Turkey.

Sports247 reports that, though, Jordan’s team are reputed with strong defensive tactics marshaled by their Moroccan coach, Jamal Sellami, their frailty at the back came to the fore when they conceded two quickfire goals against Costa Rica.
It meant the 2026 FIFA World Cup-bound side from Amman showed frailties in terms of physical strength and stamina, which could be the biggest weapon Nigeria will use against them during their decisive clash on Tuesday.
Victory for either side would see them emerge champions of the mini-competition organized by Jordan Football Association (JFA), but the Super Eagles could also pick the trophy with a draw if Costa Rica fail to beat Iran in the corresponding fixture.
Nigeria’s 2-1 win over Iran, coupled with Jordan’s implosion in their 2-2 draw with Costa Rica, means Eric Sekou Chelle’s Eagles enter the last day of matches in Antalya, Turkey in pole position, which would add to their level of confidence.
The three-time African champions, who are fresh from winning bronze at this year’s continental championship will, however, have to recall that Jordan won 1-0 when both teams clashed in 2019, and they are the hosts of this competition.
A preview of Tuesday’s match by Sports Mole also noted, “Jordan continue their steady build-up towards their maiden FIFA World Cup appearance, with Jamal Sellami’s side showing clear signs of progress in recent months.
“The Chivalrous Ones have developed a disciplined and organised style of play, relying on defensive structure and quick transitions to trouble opponents. Their most recent outing saw them play out a dramatic 2-2 draw against Costa Rica.
“Jordan appeared to be cruising to victory after establishing a 2-0 lead, but a late collapse saw Costa Rica claw their way back. The Central Americans pulled one back in the 84th minute following a saved penalty converted on the rebound.
“(They kept pressing) before equalising deep into stoppage time with a powerful header from a corner. Despite that setback, Jordan have been in solid form overall, losing just one of their last five matches, while also scoring in each of their last seven.”
