In Benin City, Bendel Insurance and Plateau United shared the spoils in a thrilling 2-2 draw that had everything from early goals to late heartbreak. The hosts struck first through Alex Oweilayefa in the 14th minute, setting the tone for an open contest.

Plateau United responded before halftime, with Monday Gideon levelling matters in the 41st minute.

The second half maintained the intensity, and Bendel Insurance regained the lead when Kayode Oke calmly converted from the penalty spot in the 59th minute.

Just as the home side looked set to secure all three points, Plateau United had the final say, with Vincent Temitope converting a dramatic stoppage-time penalty in the 90+3rd minute to snatch a point.

In Ilorin, Kwara United left it late but celebrated a crucial 1-0 victory over Nasarawa United.

The match appeared headed for a goalless draw until deep into stoppage time, when Abdulsalam Abdulsalam held his nerve to convert a 90+6th-minute penalty, sealing all three points in dramatic fashion.
