The defending champions battled to claim all three points at home in Ikenne, a result that provides a vital boost in their fight to climb away from the relegation zone.
Speaking after the match, Abd’Allah acknowledged the pressure surrounding the team but praised his players for delivering the needed result.
“I think I am satisfied with the performance of the boys. Playing at home, the three points were very necessary with a lot of pressure on the team,” Abd’Allah said.
The experienced tactician had earlier warned his players about the difficulty of the fixtures against Nasarawa United and Kwara United F.C., describing them as crucial matches in the battle to move away from danger.
“I told the boys that both the Nasarawa and Kwara United matches will be the most difficult. Getting six points from those games will surely motivate the team and help us move ahead of the relegation zone,” he added.
Remo Stars eventually took the lead in the 62nd minute when Stanley Joseph reacted quickest to a loose ball in the box. The visitors, despite being reduced to ten men, managed to level the score in the 83rd minute, briefly threatening to frustrate the home side.
However, Remo Stars restored their advantage late in the contest as Michael Ibe bundled home the winner in the 88th minute following a goalmouth scramble, sparking celebrations among the home supporters.
Abd’Allah admitted that his tactical adjustments during the match were not entirely perfect but stressed that securing maximum points remained the priority.
“There are a lot of lessons to learn from the game against Nasarawa. My tactical approach and substitutions didn’t go exactly as planned, but the three points are what matter most.”
The victory provides Remo Stars with renewed confidence as they prepare for their next league fixture while continuing their push to stabilize their position in the standings.
