Cameroon international forward Bryan Mbeumo has heaped praise on Nigerian defender Calvin Bassey, describing him as one of the toughest defenders he has faced.

Mbeumo, who has come up against Bassey on several occasions in the English top flight, admitted that the Super Eagles defender consistently stood out with his strength, speed, and defensive presence.
“Bassey, damn. I think he really stood out in games. Even the two previous games against them, he was solid,” Mbeumo said.
The Brentford F.C. forward went further to highlight the physical attributes that make the Nigerian centre-back such a difficult opponent.
“Yeah, Calvin Bassey is a beast – the guy is a beast. He’s too strong, it’s crazy, and on top of that he’s fast too. It’s not cool to play against him,” he added.
Bassey, who plays for Fulham F.C., has earned a reputation for his powerful defensive style, combining physical strength with impressive pace.
