Jordon Ibe Returns From Bulgaria To Face Assault Case In England

Lokomotiv Sofia of Bulgaria winger, Jordon Ibe, who previously played for Liverpool and Bournemouth, is currently back in England, not to play for another club, but to face charges of assault in a court of law, Sports247 gathered.

The Nigerian-born forward, who was close to England’s national team at the height of his days in the English Premier League, appeared in Croydon Magistrates’ Court on Friday, charged with assaulting a woman.

The court appearance came after the 30-year-old Ibe was arrested at Luton Airport in January, following allegations that he had committed assault in Lambeth, South London on December 14th.

He pleaded not guilty to accusations that he committed assault that led to body harm and was released on conditional bail at the end of the hearing that lasted 13-minute, following which trial was fixed for July 14th.

A report by UK’s SunSport added, “Metropolitan Police previously said Ibe was arrested at Luton Airport on January 30 and he was charged last month. A Met spokesman said Jordon Ibe has been charged with actual bodily harm.

“The charge relates to an assault alleged to have taken place on Sunday, December 14, 2025. He was arrested at Luton Airport on Friday January 30 and taken into custody.”

Sports247 notes that this is a major setback for Ibe, who made 58 appearances for Liverpool in all competitions after signing as a teen in 2012; following which he enjoyed spells at Derby County and Birmingham City.

He then moved to Bournemouth in 2016 for £15m, following which he played 92 times for the club between 2016 and 2020, during which he scored five goals and provided nine assists.
