“Our aim for season six is to perfect the model,” Fall said.
He noted that the Basketball Africa League, which is a partnership between the National Basketball Association and FIBA, has grown significantly since its launch and continues to attract interest from across the continent.

According to Fall, the adjustments being introduced in the new format are designed to broaden the league’s footprint while also improving the competitive structure of the tournament.

“We want to expand our footprint and deepen our engagement with fans across Africa,” he explained.

The BAL president highlighted that the league has already helped raise the profile of African basketball by providing local clubs with a major international platform to compete.

“The league is creating opportunities for African players, coaches and clubs to compete at a higher level,” he added.

Fall also stressed that the league’s development strategy is not only about competition but also about building a sustainable basketball ecosystem in Africa.

“We are focused on long-term growth, developing talent and strengthening the basketball culture across the continent,” he noted.

As anticipation builds ahead of the new season, Fall expressed confidence that the upcoming campaign will further consolidate the league’s reputation as one of the fastest-growing basketball competitions in the world.

“Each season we continue to improve and bring the league closer to the fans,” he said.
