Sports247 reports that the nod for Arokodare came from Wolves’ coach, Rob Edwards, who disclosed that the former RKC Genk of Belgium top scorer has also recovered from the shock of his missed penalty.
Edwards revealed further that everyone at Molineux Stadium is behind Arokodare in his trying moments, with the players and coaches offering him individual words of sympathy as well as encouraging him as a team.
The gaffer also brushed aside any lasting traumatic reactions from the 25-year-old Arokodare, who was hit with abusive messages on social media after his missed first half penalty kick saw Wolves fall 1-0 at Crystal Palace on Sunday.
He added that Arokodare trained fully with the team this week and, in spite of being heavily affected by the racist abuse, the striker is now all right to play in his side’s home game against Aston Villa on Friday.
Edwards stated, “He was upset and angered by it, understandably so. We have supported him, and we have had a few individual chats with him. We have spoken about it as a group to make sure we get around him and support him as well.”
