Sports247 reports that Ferdinand has also named Ngumoha among a number of young players who he believes have enough talent to shake the English Premier League in the near future.
Ferdinand made the declaration after Ngumoha left all mouths agape after stepping off Liverpool’s bench in the 77th minute of last weekend’s game away to Nottingham Forest and turned the game around for The Reds.
It marked another step forward for Ngumoha, who has attracted much attention from pundits, and Ferdinand has now joined the frenzy by saying he believes the lad has a bright future ahead of him.
The former defender stated further on ‘Rio Ferdinand Presents’ that Liverpool’s coach, Arne Slot should give Ngumoha more playing time and trust the youngster to make his mark for The Reds.
“He looks like a breath of fresh air. He’s standing full-backs up. He’s taking them on and making the right decisions. He’s still gonna make mistakes, but how can he not be starting a few more games?
“If your wingers who are playing aren’t performing, then he’s got a right to sit there and ask for a little cameo. He looks electrifying and I saw this kid when he was 12, 13 years old. He is a special talent,” Ferdinand gloated.
