Representing William Penn University, the Nigerian sprinter powered to a second-place finish in the women’s 60m, clocking 7.60 seconds — a new school record. The final was won by Zakiya Porter in 7.57 seconds, but Aderibigbe’s time marked a significant personal and institutional milestone.
She wasn’t finished.
Returning to the track for the 200m, Aderibigbe produced another statement run, smashing the school record by lowering the previous mark from 25.63 seconds to 24.88 seconds. The performance earned her a bronze medal and capped off one of the most impressive individual showings of the meet.
Two races. Two school records. Two podium finishes.
Beyond the medals, the progression in times signals an athlete hitting competitive rhythm at the right stage of the indoor season. Dropping nearly a full second in the 200m record reflects technical improvement and growing race maturity.
For Aderibigbe, this was more than a strong meet — it was a performance that reinforces her upward trajectory and underlines Nigeria’s expanding sprint presence on the collegiate circuit.
