Ramadan: Majekodunmi Calls for Piety, Unity and Compassion Among Nigerians

Alhaji Ganiyu Majekodunmi, Executive Board Member of the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF), Chairman of the NFF Youth Football Committee and Chairman of the Ogun State Football Association, has joined millions of Muslim faithful across Nigeria and the world in welcoming the holy month of Ramadan.

Majekodunmi described Ramadan as a sacred period of abstinence, deep reflection and total submission to the dictates of the Islamic faith, noting that the month embodies the values of peace, unity, love and compassion, which are greatly needed in society today.

In his Ramadan message, Majekodunmi urged Muslims to embrace piety, sincerity and selflessness, stressing that the spiritual discipline of the season offers an opportunity for moral renewal and personal rebirth.

“Ramadan is a very significant period in the life of every Muslim,” Majekodunmi said. “It is a time to purify our hearts, strengthen our faith and renew our commitment to peaceful coexistence, love for one another and service to humanity.”

He noted that beyond fasting and prayers, Ramadan calls for good conduct, tolerance and kindness, adding that the lessons of the holy month should positively influence individual behavior and national development.

“This blessed month reminds us that when we act with discipline, humility and compassion, society becomes better,” he said. “The values of Ramadan, if upheld, can contribute greatly to unity and progress in our nation.”

Majekodunmi also called on well-placed Nigerians to extend a helping hand to the less privileged, describing charity and generosity as core principles of Islam that are especially emphasized during Ramadan.

“Supporting the needy, feeding the hungry and caring for the vulnerable are acts that define the true essence of Ramadan,” he noted. “Those whom Allah has blessed with abundance should remember others and show mercy.”

He further urged Nigerians to use the holy month to pray for peace, unity and the continued socio-economic growth of the country, stressing the importance of collective prayers for national stability and prosperity.

“As we fast and pray, let us remember our country in our supplications,” Majekodunmi added. “May Allah grant Nigeria peace, unity and progress.”

He concluded by wishing Muslim faithful a spiritually rewarding Ramadan and prayed for Allah’s guidance and blessings upon the Federal Republic of Nigeria.

“Ramadan Mubarak to all Muslim faithful. May this holy month bring peace, blessings and renewed hope to our nation,” he said
